Ayanavaram
Chennai city comprises of a number of suburban localities, Ayanavaram representing one such locality. The suburban region is located in Western Chennai at an approximate distance of eight kilometres from the center of the city. The Konnur High Road runs through the region of Ayanavaram. Ayanavaram is one of the peripheral commercial areas of Chennai city. The place witnesses a lot of activities throughout the day. Compared to other suburbs of the city, the place is not that much congested. Coming from the city center the first establishment one would encounter are those of Thiruvateeswarar Hospital and then Tamil Nadu State Corporation. The bus stand near the T.N.S.C. office provides the bus services to other city suburbs. The regions towards the left and right side of the road are marked by residential quarters. Proceeding further west and you will find still other medical centres like Yasodha Hospital and Leprosy Centre. Towards the farther west end are located Railway Quarters and Technical Training Centre. Two important religious places, located towards the western periphery, are Kalikamba Kameswarar Temple and Lutheran Church. The region from east to west is frequently provided with banks, small market places and wedding halls. The Aspiran Garden Colony is one popular residential place in the Ayanavaram locality. The colony is located close to the northern limits of the city outskirts. Accessibility
